Safe Homes, Stronger Bonds
Our Stand Against Domestic Violence
Knowing that domestic violence prevention is a priority in the Commonwealth of Australia, we must understand that intersectionality is primarily a tool for understanding invisible power relations and how they shape inequality, not identity. Intersectionality looks at “interlocking” systems of oppression and how this plays out in individuals’ lives.
With the help of those who care for humanity and take time to understand the experience of employees belonging to multiple social groups, leaders can learn how oppressions are interlinked and see these issues unsolved in silos. Reducing family is systemic inclusion, removing barriers preventing people from accessing what they need. That might be a service, a workplace, or even the job itself.
Creating a community patrol
Our organisation set up a Neighborhood Watch or a community patrol, working with the police to aid in the prevention of domestic violence. Make sure your streets and homes are well-lighted. Ensure that all the neighbourhood youth have positive ways to spend their spare time through organised recreation, tutoring programs, part-time work, and volunteer opportunities. With the help of good citizens, particularly Australians, we eliminate violence and provide community support services for African Australians.
Speaks out against family violence
Volunteer and fundraise for women's emergency shelters and other agencies. Participate in community-based awareness activities and initiatives.
Reduce aggression to violence
The control strategy is most popular among policies maker who sees punishment as the best way to deter crime and protect society.
Health and social consequences
We call to stop because violence has enormous health and social consequences. Violence results in many deaths every day, particularly among young men and boys.
